Educational & Skill Qualification
- Tax Assistant: Graduation degree in any stream. You must have a data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.
- Stenographer Grade-II: Class 12 pass or equivalent. Skill test requires dictation at 80 words per minute for 10 minutes.
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Class 10 pass (Matriculation) from a recognized board. No additional technical skills required.
Sports Eligibility
You must have represented your State or Country in National or International competitions, or won a medal in Junior National Championships, School Games, or any variant of the Khelo India Games before the sports cutoff date of March 31, 2026.
A total of 65 sports disciplines are eligible, including Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Swimming, Volleyball, and Wrestling.

The department shortlists candidates equal to 4 times the vacancies for Tax Assistant, and top 10 candidates for the Stenographer post.
- Phase 2 (Skill Test): Shortlisted candidates must pass the practical typing or stenography test at the Bhubaneswar office. This test is qualifying in nature.
For Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS):
- Single-Phase Selection: Candidates are selected directly based on their positions in the sports merit points list. No written exam or skill test is conducted.
