Eligibility Criteria for KSP Civil Police Constable 2026

1. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed PUC (12th Standard) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Accepted equivalent qualifications include CBSE Class 12, ICSE Class 12, NIOS Higher Secondary, a 3-year Diploma, or a 2-year ITI with required language subjects from NIOS.
  • Note: Candidates appearing for exams and waiting for results as of the closing date are NOT eligible.

2. Age Limit (Includes 1-Time 5-Year Relaxation)

The Karnataka Government has provided a major one-time 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit for all candidates this year. Age will be calculated as of 03 July 2026.

3. Physical Standard Test (PST) Requirements

Candidates must meet the strict physical measurements to qualify for the endurance test:

  • Direct Male & In-Service Male:
    • Minimum Height: 168 cm
    • Minimum Chest: 86 cm (with a minimum 5 cm expansion)
  • Female & Transgender Candidates:
    • Minimum Height: 157 cm
    • Minimum Weight: 45 kg
  • Tribal Candidates (Forest Area):
    • Male: Height 155 cm, Chest 75 cm (5 cm expansion)
    • Female: Height 150 cm

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The recruitment is carried out in multiple strict phases:

Written Exam Pattern

  • Mode: Offline OMR format conducted by KEA.
  • Total Marks: 100 Marks
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes)
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect answer. An option to shade a 5th circle (if leaving a question unattempted) is provided. Failing to shade any circle will also result in a 0.25 mark penalty.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 30 Marks.
  • Syllabus Topics: General Knowledge, Science, Geography, History, Indian Constitution, National Freedom Movement, General Mental Ability, and Moral Education.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Candidates qualifying in the written exam (in a 1:5 ratio) will be called for the PET. For Male Candidates:

  • 1600 Meters Run: Within 6 minutes 30 seconds
  • High Jump (min 1.20m) OR Long Jump (min 3.80m): Maximum 3 chances
  • Shot Put (7.26 kg): Minimum 5.60 meters (Maximum 3 chances)

For Female, Transgender & Ex-Servicemen Candidates:

  • 400 Meters Run: Within 2 minutes
  • High Jump (min 0.90m) OR Long Jump (min 2.50m): Maximum 3 chances
  • Shot Put (4 kg): Minimum 3.75 meters (Maximum 3 chances)

H2: KSP Constable Salary 2026

Selected candidates will be placed on a probation period of 2 years and 6 months, after completing a rigorous 9-month basic training program.

  • Pay Scale: ₹37,500 – ₹76,100 per month.
  • Pension: Covered under the National Pension System (NPS).
  • In-Hand Estimate: Expect a strong starting salary package equipped with government allowances, Dearness Allowance (DA), and medical benefits.
