For Senior Economic Investigator: You need a Bachelor’s or Post-Graduate Degree with Honours in Economics, Applied Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, or Statistics.

For Librarian Posts: You need a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib) or Master’s Degree (M.Lib) with 50% marks.

For Market Intelligence Inspector: You need a Graduation Degree with at least 40% marks and Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, or Accounting as one of the subjects.

Selection Process for OSSC CGL Specialist 2026

Stage 1 — Preliminary Examination

A written test of 150 marks. Duration: 150 minutes. It covers Arithmetic, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Current Events, and Computer Awareness. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates scoring above the cut off go to Stage 2.

Stage 2 — Main Written Examination & Skill Test

A technical paper specific to your applied post carrying 200 marks. Duration: 150 minutes. There is a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer. A Computer Skill Test will also be held for applicable posts.

Stage 3 — Certificate Verification
