​What is Short Service Commission Officer and What Does This Job Involve?

​The Indian Army has a special branch called the Remount and Veterinary Corps. We call it RVC in short. This branch handles all the animals serving in the army. They take care of army dogs, horses, and mules.

​As an RVC Officer, you work as a veterinary doctor for the army. Your daily work includes treating sick army dogs. You manage the breeding of horses for military use. ​You must also be registered with the Veterinary Council of India. You can also have registration with your State Veterinary Council. If you do not have this registration you cannot apply.
